Had a full Saturday afternoon yesterday that included dinner and a (theatrical) show. Wrapped up the night by watching some short films, one of which included the song “The Riots Gone” by Santigold at the end. I love the song immensely, and it was one of the selections I often made while DJ’ing for Voices of Women on WRIU. It also reminded me that earlier in the evening, during dinner, the restaurant played a bunch of Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings. In essence, it felt like the musical gods were shining down on me yesterday – and I was super grateful.
