Extra extra; read all about it!

If you’re one of the donors who recently gave 50 or more dollars to receive a limited time-only copy of the #3amblackpoetry collection “I’ve Come to Find It Lovely” – and to support birthday surfing in Costa Rica for @3amblack Publisher-Editor Reza Rites – check your email inbox. Earlier today you should have received an email with a link to the second limited edition mini-collection available to donors/contributors. “Las Canciones de La Sirena/Siren Song” is a series of poems inspired by the sea, a poetry competition, and the beautiful colors and landscapes seen by Reza during recent trips to Jamaica and Costa Rica.

Both e-collections – “I’ve Come to Find It Lovely” and “Las Canciones de La Sirena” – will be available for purchase through the end of the month, and will be live/available to readers till January 1. Donations of 10 or more dollars will be thanked with a link to the former, and donations amounting to 50 or more will be thanked with links to both collections. Funds collected will go toward the remaining balance of costs associated with Costa Rica, toward repairs of Reza’s portable typewriter, and toward other costs associated with sharing, presenting and community-building related to #3amblackpoetry (eg., National Poetry Month workshops, printing postcards, and producing independent productions and events).

Hear/catch a glimpse of poems from the collections, written by Reza Rites and Dakota Castro, on Tuesday, Nov 16, 7pm, at @PVDSwapMeet, a poetry, spoken word, and slam night at Platforms, 165 Poe St. in Providence. Or check out (at) rezaclif on Soundcloud and YouTube for audio and multimedia poetic bites. More info, including a link to give and a link to read my surfing/Carefree Black Girl manifesto, are below. Sunshine and laughter. – Reza Rites
