“3 AM is the New Black” is a zine-style journal featuring art, essays, and poems. It is the intersection of high art, street art, and critical social discourse. It is the exploration, examination, and discussion of topics like afrofuturism, pan-africanism, and afrocentricity; feminism as (re)defined by women of color; and love, liberation, justice, diversity, inclusion and plurality. #3amblack is shared through both classic/low-fi mediums and digital spaces, eg. zines, postcards, blogs and podcasts.
Through our online spaces, you can join the conversation, purchase issues of each zine/journal, follow contributors, get digital excerpts, and find details about opportunities to pick up copies in person.
