3 AM IS THE NEW BLACK was launched in September 2013, first as a physical zine, followed closely afterwards by the creation of a “multiverse” of online spaces featuring the art, essays, and poems of #3amblack Founder/Publisher/Editor, Reza Rites – and contributions, collaborations, and media snippets with and from other creators. Since 2017, 3 AM IS THE NEW BLACK has been one of the many online hubs where writers come together every April to celebrate, create, and cultivate community during National (and International) Poetry Month. However, since the early days, Reza has consistently drawn from her multimedia production experience, passion around photography, and multiple pathways of imagination to provide videos, audio landscapes, and vivid imagery as part of, and to support, the written and artistic work featured in #3amblack spaces. Email rezaclif@gmail.com with the subject “3 AM IS THE NEW BLACK” to discuss the following opportunities, or more: 1) to publish, be featured or collaborate in/with #3amblack spaces; 2) to interview or feature the works of #3amblackpoetry writers, artists and contributors; or 3) for invitations to Reza Rites to perform or write poems in venues and live settings, to deliver talks and keynote addresses, and/or to hire Reza for adult and youth-designed writing and multimedia production workshops.
